Católica alumni participate in debate on the future of European Universities

Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) recently led a meeting in Brussels on outreach strategies for European universities, as part of the Transform4Europe Alliance (T4EU). 

The event, which was attended by Católica alumni, debated crucial issues such as student qualifications, research, knowledge transfer and how to design a vision for the future of European universities. Highlighting the importance of international collaboration, the debate was enriched by the speakers:

  • Bernardo Ivo Cruz, Secretary of State for Internationalization; 
  • Amanda Crowfoot, from the Association of European Universities; 
  • Jean Ehret, from the Luxembourg School of Religion & Society; 
  • Bryan Wells, NATO Chief Scientist; 
  • Alexandre Affre, Deputy Director General of BusinessEurope;
  • Francisco Mendes-Palma, Institutional Coordinator of Transform4EU | UCP.

Francisco Mendes-Palma highlighted the relevance of the results of this meeting for the strategic trajectory of T4EU, positioning Universidade Católica Portuguesa as a leader in these discussions.

Daniel Filipe Madureira Fonseca, a member of the European Parliament's General Secretariat and one of the alumni who attended the event, emphasized the importance of sharing knowledge between researchers, companies and institutions, especially in a world seeking rapid and integrated development.
