SACRU: Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities signing ceremony

On October 12, Católica hosted the signing ceremony of the Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities, establishing a multilateral research based alliance among seven Catholic Universities such as: Boston College- EUA; PUC- Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil; Universidad Ramon Llull, in Spain; Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, in Italy; PUC- in Chile; Australian Catholic University, in Australia and Sophia University, in Japan.

The Partner Universities agreed to share the following principles:  A university culture inspired by Catholicism, with respect for academic freedom; a spirit of great rigor in the academic quality of teaching, research and service to the community; a commitment to multilateral and global cooperation; a commitment to develop a research intensive environment championing academic freedom and ethical responsibility.

They thus establish a strategic alliance to pursue the following objectives: enhancing the Catholic network of the universities;encouraging multilateral cooperation in teaching, research and service to the community; promoting mobility and exchange of teaching and administrative staff, researchers, and students between the partner universities; improving the visibility among the partners of the programmes and research produced in each of the institutions by promoting joint research projects at Universities. 

Through their excellence in teaching, research and service to the community, these Universities bring to further promote a collaboration and sharing of good practices, in order to develop a model of competitive scientific interaction on a global impact.
